Major General Khalifa Harib Al Kheli, assistant undersecretary for resources and support services attended at the police officers club in Abu Dhabi a lecture on the "integrated crop management for date palm ", which was organized by the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Farmers Services Center (FSC) in Abu Dhabi.

The lecture aims at educating the farmers and farm owners about the importance of upgrading the productivity and quality of dates palm trees, being one of the most significant agricultural crops in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, said Ray Moule, the center's technical services director.

Dr. Isameel Al Hosani, director of the FCS agricultural guidance development department focused on importance of the palm tree and its indication as heritage symbol in the country.

Very advanced technology on irrigation and fertilization operations have been applied, he pointed out, adding that the center urges farmers to apply such technology which assists in increasing the weight of dates by 15-20 per cent. It is a scientific step within the center's plans to improve the agricultural practices in general, enhance quality of performance and develop the agricultural sector in emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The lecturer concluded by answering the inquiries raised by the audience.
The lecture was attended by a number of police officer of the ministry of interior and Abu Dhabi police, as well as number of officials and workers at the center, farm owners and farmers.
