Ministry of interior complete preparations to secure FNC elections
The Higher Security Committee at the Ministry of Interior, which is in charge of security during the Federal National Council (FNC) elections, has completed all organizational and logistical preparations for the elections.
The committee has drafted a security plan that will be implemented on Sept. 24 to ensure security is maintained during the Election Day.
Lieutenant- General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and head of the committee, said that its role is to maintain security to ensure a smooth electoral process. Moreover, preparations have been made to provide voters easy access to polling stations.
He stressed the importance of implementing the directives of the higher leadership by combining all efforts to secure the electoral process, to further boosting political participation and pushing FNC experience forward into a greater stage of representation.
The success achieved in 2006 elections emphasizes the high national sense of UAE citizens towards their national issues, he said.
Al Shaafar praised the efforts of the National Elections Commission in disseminating awareness among all institutions, ministers and agencies in the country, through holding extensive public seminars, assuring that next election will be representing a unique experience.
