The Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works. The understanding aims to cooperate and collaborate on extending help for victims of human trafficking, rehabilitating inmates and finding jobs for them, in order to integrate them in society. It also aims to provide assistance for special cases affected by crimes, in addition to establishing projects that serve security and enhance stability in the society.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Interior by HE Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry and on behalf of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, by its Director General, Ahmad Shabib Al Dhaheri.
This MoU comes in line with the efforts exerted by the two parties, to implement the best practices to reinforce the humanitarian and social role played by both public and private institutions. It also reflects the two parties’ keenness to achieve the strategy and vision of the Federal Government, which seeks leadership in government administration and integration with the efforts exerted by local governments in order to achieve excellence for the United Arab Emirates on all levels.
The MoU also aims to enhance the continuous cooperation and collaboration between the two parties to facilitate the work in the humanitarian field to provide assistance for individuals affected by crimes and victims of human trafficking. It also joins efforts to support establishing specialized facilities within correctional system according to the principles that protect each party’s privacy, save time and costs, enhance performance and speed, for the benefit of the people in need.
The signing ceremony was attended by Brigadier Hamad Adeel Al Shamsi, Director General of Correctional and Punitive Establishments, Brigadier Mohammed Saleh Baddah Al Awadhi, acting director of Public Relations Department, Colonel Ali Saeed Al Shakkai, Director of Adjudications execution and Inmates Affairs Department and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Mazroui, Director of International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior. On behalf of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the ceremony was attended by Ahmad Hilal Al Falahi, Director of Financial Affairs, Ateeq Ahmad Al Muhairi, Head of Fixed Programs Department, Majed Al Mansouri, acting director of Projects Department and Consultant Abdul Hameed Abdul Hai.
