The Emirates Traffic Safety Society Board of Directors discussed the preparation for the international symposium that will be organized by the Society under the title: Traffic accidents- The effects and reflection on economic, health and social development on the 11th and 12th of April at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was headed by Mohammed Salih bin Badwa Al Darmaki, Head of the Board of Directors.
Bin Badwa reasserted the importance of presenting the international symposium with the highest standards. This subject is a very vital matter that concerns all road users, especially those people who will benefit from the recommendations given at the symposium.
He added: “The different topics in the symposium’s scientific program will be addressed through a group of important worksheets. Participants will include Arab and foreign experts in addition to ministries, committees, and government departments in the UAE. The experts will submit studies and experiments that will shed light on the losses resulting from traffic accidents. Their worksheets will give important recommendations that will contribute to formulating solutions for problems facing road users, especially concerned governmental departments who carry out all efforts to minimize losses whether human or material.”
He assured that the World Health Organization will participate in the opening ceremony with a speech and a scientific sheet, in which it will present the worldwide traffic accident problem, and the Traffic Safety Work Contract Program that has been launched for the period 2011-2020.
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, France, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, England, and Portugal will participate with worksheets in which they will present their experiences on dealing with traffic accidents and losses, in addition to the methods and tools used to calculate the direct and indirect expenses resulting from accidents. A number of ministers, government, and parental committees will participate in the symposium such as Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Health, National Committee for Transportation, Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Department of Economic Development, Department of Transport, Health Authority in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates University, Emirates Insurance Association, and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. The symposium will include six sessions and more than 24 scientific worksheets.
