A study by ADP deals with future vision For developing police courts

 

ADP Center for Research and Security Studies has issued recently a new study under the title "Police Courts at ADP GHQ", prepared by Brigadier Mohammad Khamis Al Shuhi, Director of ADP Legal Affairs and Dr. Mohammad Qadri Hassan, a Researcher at the Center.

The study discusses future vision to develop the police courts and to appoint a public prosecutor for the police, representing Prosecution Department to investigate behavioral mistakes. The study also proposes setting up specialized police courts to be run by specialized military judges, in accordance with the laws and legislations of the country.

The 120-page study focuses on the role of police courts, disciplinary boards, security force personnel trials and disciplinary punishments, in addition to the appendixes: The Federal Law number 129 of 1976 regarding police and security force, decisions regarding professional behavior rules violations, disciplinary boards and trial procedures.

The study introduces the tasks of police courts section, in terms of investigation and consequent formalities, such as listening to witnesses, verifying evidences, inspecting places of work, the section authority terms of reference, referring to disciplinary board, suspended employees and sentenced personnel.

The study indicates that "Police and security force" is a regular authority responsible for maintaining public order and disciplines, protecting lives and properties, preventing and controlling crime, ensuring citizens and residents reassurance and security and enforcing the law rules and regulations.
