Colonel Hamid Al Aafrit, Director of the Arms and Explosives Department in the General Department of Security and Ports at the Abu Dhabi Police, and Chief of the Security Committee for the Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, confirmed that the security, technical and regulatory resources will be provided in the exhibition in order to expeditiously complete the transactions of citizens as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council’s people concerning the purchasing of weapons licenses.

He also said that the Abu Dhabi Police undertakes the supervising and the security insurance and inspection procedures pointing out that the Security Committee is working in the exhibition throughout the day, and has a trained security staff to handle the exhibition’s visitors and respond to their queries. The Security committee operates in a professional manner that will  highlight the civility of the Emirates and the capacity of its people to organize and secure such international events; a task that requires significant experience and accuracy in performance.

The president of the exhibition’s Security Committee praised the efforts of the organizing committee and the national cadres that contributed to organizing this traditional and cultural forum reflecting values, authenticity and habits that are conferred from generation to generation.

He explained that the Security Committee allocated private offices within the exhibition; the first one is for VIPs from the State and from the GCC in order to terminate the application of buying their own weapons. The second private bureau is for UAE’s citizens, and the third one is for GCC nationals.

Colonel Al Aafrit urged gun owners to take safety precautions while cleaning the weapon ensuring that there is no ammunition inside, and to put it in a safe place in a special locker, tightly closed. He also specified that the gun is to be used only by licensed persons pointing out that the committee is committed to not extending licenses unless it can make sure of the applicants’ ages and other qualifying requirements.
