A study depicting the UAE as a pioneer in addicts care and treatment
ADP Research and Security Studies Center has issued a new study confirming the pioneering role of the UAE in treating drug addicts and their rehabilitation in order to assist them in not returning to addiction.
The study, prepared by Dr. Mohammad Qadri Hassan, deals with the problem of drug abuse, their effects and how to protect the community from the threat. It speaks about administrative procedures to be adopted to follow up addicts on their release and the role of the family and friends in assisting them.
The study urges the community to stand by those who return to addiction. Physicians, social workers and psychologists need to understand and solve the problems of addicts. The economic status and financial needs of their families shall be studied. Their morale spirits shall be raised, and they should be encouraged to continue their academic and religious education.
