The Human Rights Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior’s Office, organized a workshop on developing the inference rooms, at the Officers Club at the Abu Dhabi Police.

The workshop was attended by Brigadier Lieutenant Ahmed Mohammed Nakhira Al Mahrami, Director of Human Rights Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior’s Office in addition to a number of officers specialized in investigation and inference collection at the Ministry and Police General Headquarters.

The workshop stressed the need to unify the efforts exerted to develop the inference rooms as per unified specifications in all the Ministry of Interior’s departments. It also showcased the different experiences and initiatives presented by a number of leaderships and relevant departments at the Ministry of Interior.

Major Dr. Zubaida Jassem Mohammed, Director of Maternal and Child Protection at the Human Rights Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Interior’s Office, stated that the workshop shed the light on the location specifications of the inference rooms, developing and equipping them in line with the tasks assigned to them for inference collection with certain social categories such as children, women and disabled.

She also explained that the workshop focused on the personal and functional features required from law enforcement officers who are entrusted with supervising and receiving the abovementioned categories. She also pointed that the required features were reviewed and discussed, and recommended rehabilitating law enforcement officers according to special programs relevant to the inference collection task, while taking into account, the humanitarian aspects of those social categories.
