Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police, attended a ceremony to honor department directors and officers who ranked first in the Director’s Award. The ceremony, held at the Ceremonies’ Hall at Directorate, aims to honor the sectors that succeeded in achieving the strategic objectives during the first quarter of this year. It also comes in line with the Traffic Safety Strategy and Job Incentive methodology adopted by Abu Dhabi Police, to improve performance to the highest levels.

Al Harthi indicated that the Award seeks to establish a mechanism of competition among the Directorate’s different traffic sectors,   to achieve the strategic objectives, namely; reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries; speed of response and increasing traffic control. This can be achieved by measuring performance indicators and comparing them to the previously achieved results.

Moreover, Al Harthi called upon the Directorate to maintain the positive results and to seek further achievements in the coming period, so as to achieve the zero mortality on roads due to traffic accidents by the year 2030.

Concluding, Al Harthi congratulated all officers who obtained the first edition of the Director’s Award. He urged them to double the efforts to promote the Directorate’s role to reduce traffic accidents and their resulting deaths and serious injuries on roads. “It is our solemn duty to serve the nation by protecting its citizens, who are the pillars of our wealth and the purpose of development,” he noted.
