The participants in the disasters assessment and coordination course have conducted practical training on methods of dealing with GPS devices, satellites, and internet websites during crisis and disasters.
The workshop, co organized by the United Nations and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ at the Abu Dhabi Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel, also comprised a session where the audiences were able to learn about the methods of giving information, dealing with the media, and making press interviews during crisis and disasters.
According to Lt. Colonel Mohammed Al Ansari, Abu Dhabi Police Field Liaison Officer with the UN, field training will be conducted at the Al Shelaila area and it includes sharing of information and correspondence among operation rooms. They have also conducted actual 36 continuous search and rescue operation for injured and missing people with the participation of search and rescue teams from the UAE, Sultanate of Oman and Singapore.
