The Executive Committee of the Secretariat of the Minister of Interior’s Award for Scientific Research has organized an introductory lecture on the methods of scientific research.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Abdul Moneim Ahmed Hassan, Professor of Curriculums and Teaching Methods at the Faculty of Education, UAE University and hosted by Police Sciences Academy of Sharjah, in presence of a huge number of officers and staff members from different MoI departments at the northern emirates.
Lt Colonel Dr Salah Al Ghoul, chairman of the executive committee of the award stated that the lecture is held based on the conviction that it is important to release the potential capabilities of applicants for the Award and endowing them with the required expertise to prepare their researches.
The lecture included goals of scientific research which are description, prediction, setting and classification of scientific research according to their approaches and objectives.
The lecturer reviewed the steps of scientific research which are: defining the problem, reviewing the previous studies, defining goals, collecting and analyzing data and writing and evaluating research report.
The research report is composed of five main parts which are: introduction, previous studies, methods and procedure, discussions of findings, references and the research abstract.
