The organizing committee for the Letter of Loyalty Marathon honored the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for their effective role and support in the success of each phase of the marathon. The assistance provided by the police was a noteworthy feat considering the marathon, in its fourth year, covered a span of 600 km in Abu Dhabi.

Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, recently met with the chairman and the members of the organizing committee in his office, where he reiterated the keenness of the policing commands to support and encourage participation in national initiatives. “Participation in national initiatives with extraordinary goals, such as the Letter of Loyalty Marathon, embodies the noble values of our society and pays tribute to the allegiance that we have for our great leader,” he said.

Saleh Mohamed Hassan, chairman of the marathon’s organizing committee, expressed his thankfulness and gratitude to Abu Dhabi Police for its participation in the success of the Abu Dhabi phase of the marathon. He thanked Major Gen. Al Rumaithi for his unlimited support in all aspects of organization and logistics that were provided by the policing bodies and for the participation of contestants representing the police in the cultural event. “Abu Dhabi Police has always been an exemplary leader and has consistently contributed to the success of each major sporting event – most notably the Letter of Loyalty Marathon,” he said.

The marathon, in its fourth year, is the first of its kind in the world; and has set a new Guinness World Record in terms of distance and timing. The marathon took off from the Diwan of the Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region of Bida Zayed City towards Al Ain. The journey continued throughout each of the Emirates: Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Sharjah, and Dubai. The marathon, spanning more than 1,000 km, concluded at the the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.
