A delegation from the General Headquarters of Civil Defense in the Ministry of Interior (MoI) visited a gym in Abu Dhabi Mall to examine the preparations for the UAE World Firefighter Challenge in the public category. The delegation was led by Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director General of Fire, Protection and Safety Affairs in the General Headquarters of Civil Defense, and accompanied by members of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) national team, which is participating in the UAE World Firefighter Challenge. The championship was organized by the MoI in cooperation with the 911 Challenge and in partnership with Fitness First Middle East club for men.

Colonel Al Nuaimi and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the ongoing preparations and arrangements for the championship. He then met with some participants from the public category.

He praised the large number of public attendees of the championship and the desire of many people to experience the challenge faced during the daily work of civil defense members. He also expressed his pride of the public’s awareness of the importance of the firefighters’ work, and valued their desire to join the challenge, which requires a high level of physical strength.

The UAE World Fire Fighter Championship is the first of its kind in the region. It consists of a series of unique motivational competitions that test firefighters’ basic fitness skills, stamina and innovation. It also tests their capacity to exchange knowledge with their colleagues and increase awareness about fire risks.
