Abu Dhabi Police GHQ harvested a number of awards as part of the eighth annual International Business Awards nicknamed as Stevie. It won the prize of the best government non-profit organization (People's Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite Companies 2011). This is the most prestigious international award obtained in the field.
The award was received by Major General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali, director general of human resources during a ceremony held Tuesday evening at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, in presence of Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi, minister of foreign trade along with a number of local , regional and international organizations .
Abu Dhabi Police obtained three awards and three medals as follows: People's Choice Stevie® Awards for best government organization 2011, Award for best administrative leadership in Human resources, Award for best IT team, Medal of the appreciation for the outstanding government organization, Medal of appreciation for best costumer service, and medal of appreciation for best administrative support team.
Major General Mohammed Al Awadhi Al Menhali won the award of the best executive leadership in human resources discipline, whereas the TETRA Project Team, led by Lt Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, deputy director of IT and Communications Department, won the second prize for the best IT team.
Colonel Abdul Hakim Al Suwaidi, head of Abu Dhabi Police operations team won the medal for the best customer service, and Major Bashshar Khalil Badran, from the General Directorate of Human Resources, won the medal of the best administrative team in strategic planning
Al Awadhi attributed the win to the unlimited support given by the higher leadership to the police organization and for the tireless follow up by Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior to enhance police work to the finest possible levels, thus archiving the aspirations of the community to maintaining safety and stability and ensuring that its members get the best services according the international standards.
More than 35,000 votes were cast in the award for best government non- profit organization. Abu Dhabi Police has won the award of People's Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite Companies 2011.
More than 3000 participants from more than 50 countries have taken part to win the International Business Award.
Major General Al Awadhi lauded the coordination and cooperation of the Abu Dhabi Police taskforce and all staff members. He also praised the trust members of the public have placed in their police organizations, as well as trust of the international organizations which voted for Abu Dhabi Police. He also praised the Award Board for their trust in Abu Dhabi Police.
