The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Sports Activity Section, organized a circuit training workout for 30 staff members from various police departments at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). The two-day workout that took place at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi aimed at boosting staff members’ physical fitness and readiness, to enable them to perform the tasks assigned to them with high competency.

Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, underlined that the circuit training workout aims to improve sports activities and boost the readiness of the Ministry of Interior’s staff members. “It also contributes to improve the personal level of physical fitness of police personnel, and efficiently helps them to acquire moral and volitional characteristics, such as honesty, discipline, self-reliance, in addition to other values that would boost work efficiency,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that the circuit workout training is a way to perform exercises with little or no equipment at all. The workout takes into account a set of specific conditions, such as the choice of exercises, their frequency and intensity and periods of rest. The circuit training workout can be created based on a combination of foundations and principles of different training methods, in order to develop physical fitness and sporting skills, which would positively reflect on work competency.
