18 staff members from the Special Tasks Department at the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) graduated after completing the “Police Self-Defense and Control Tactics” course. The one-week course was organized by Training Department in cooperation with the South Korea Embassy in the UAE.
The course aimed to provide graduates with self-defense skills; develop their intellectual, technical, sporting and combat skills; and provide them with modern combat techniques and tactics that they can apply in policing and arrest operations.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Colonel Matar Musbah Al Dhaheri, Acting Head of the Special Tasks Department; Kim Sun Pyo, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of South Korea in the UAE; Major Faisal Ali Al Kathiri, Chief of the Training Section at the Special Tasks Department; and First Lieutenant Mohammad Ghareeb Al Hammadi, Curricula and Courses Branch Manager at the Special Tasks Department.
The course comes in line with the ADP strategic plan aiming to refine the skills of police staff members and develop their knowledge in training fields. The course is also in line with the ADP keenness to keep pace with the best technologies to counter crime and promote the community’s security and safety.
