A delegation from the Research and Survey Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, discussed plans to prepare a survey study to assess the successful response of specialized teams in extinguishing the fire incident that occurred recently at the Address Downtown Hotel in Dubai, and their high professionalism in handling the operation.

During their meeting with Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Director General in Dubai; the delegation members praised the efforts exerted by Civil Defense and backup teams in the firefighting and ambulance operations. They also lauded the fast response and efficient management of the incident site, which led to the successful evacuation of residents and visitors from the hotel at a record speed, the safe evacuation of the area surrounding Burj Khalifa, which contributed to preventing any casualties.

For his part, Major General Al Matroushi welcomed the visiting delegation, which that included Captain Abdullah Juma’a Al Dhaheri and Captain Ahmad Al Shareefi. He noted that the specialized teams have successfully carried out their mission thanks to their constructive cooperation and high sense of patriotism, in addition to the cooperation of the Address Hotel’s residents and guests with the specialized teams’ efforts and civilized behavior.

The delegation stressed the keenness to implement the Police Leadership’s directives, to ensure coordination, cooperation, exchange of expertise and opinions, to identify opportunities for improvement. “Respondents in the survey study will include a number of community members  and members of the support teams that participated in extinguishing the fire, in addition to a number of the hotel residents. The survey study will be achieved soon, “they noted.
