MoI urges citizens and residents to abide by safety and security procedures
Ministry of Interior has urged citizens and residents to take necessary safety and security precautions and to follow protection procedures, whether inside or outside homes, during Eid Al Fitr holiday, so as to spend a happy holiday free of accidents.
Brigadier Mohammad Saleh Badah, Director General of MoI Public Relations said “Abiding by safety and security procedures and measurements reduces accidents which take place due to small things which people neglect. Many fires break out because of incautious use of incense, gas cookers, not locking gas cylinders when going out and defective electric wirings. Flouting public safety conditions may cause huge human and financial losses.
He has urged the people to avoid and stay away from wrong practices which children adopt on happy occasions such as playing with firecrackers. Parents should read the directions which come with toys to protect their children. Children should not be allowed to go to dangerous or deserted places.
During Eid holiday people go to beaches much more than other days. Beach goers should abide by instructions to avoid risks and drowning incidents. Drivers should follow safe driving methods especially the roads during this period witness increased traffic flow.
He has called on the public to report any accident immediately, give way for emergency and rescue vehicles, not crowding at accidents sites, not impeding security and emergency work. People are kindly requested to cooperate with MoI bodies and to practice preventive individual and group behaviors.
