28 families, victims of the fire on Airport Road, receive shelter

 

Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has accommodated 28 families consisting of 132 members from different nationalities and age groups, who lost their property and belongings in the fire on Airport Road. The implementation of this humanitarian task is followed up by the Department of Community Policing in coordination with Al Khalidia Police Station and other relevant authorities. 

Captain Al Hajj Mabkhoot Al Minhali, Head of Community Policing Section in Abu Dhabi said "The presence of the Community Police in residential neighborhoods has assisted in offering psychological, moral and social support to the victims. The effective cooperation between the Community Police community members has lessened losses to a great extent".     

In the same context 1st Lt. Sami Al Mundhri, Director of Community Police Branch at Al Khalidia Police Station said "The Branch has cooperated with the Department of Social Support Centers at MoI to provide shelters for the victims, in addition to Iftar and Sahoor meals for families members until they return back to their homes".

The Department of Security Media communicated on Saturday with the public through the Holy Quran Radio Channel and Emirates FM Radio Channel, in addition to the Facebook and Twitter sites. Drivers were informed of blocked roads and diverted to other streets.  

1st Lt. Majid Al Marzouqi, Head of Media studies and Security Coordination Section at the Secretariat General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said "ADP has published and broadcast TV reports and news about the fire and enabled the public to find out more through our Facebook site".

“Through the social media site Twitter, we have also informed the public and kept updating them.”, added Al Marzouqi.
