For the fourth consecutive year, the Forensic Evidence Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has renewed its annual accreditation issued by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), under the ISO 17025 terms and conditions.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director of the Department said: “The department has received the United Kingdom Accreditation Service’s accreditation for the fourth consecutive year on poisons, drugs, alcohol and stimulants tests, chemical tests, DNA profiling, forensic biology and other fields.”
He pointed out that the UKAS has accredited new tests this year, including percentages of gold and heavy metals in the blood.
Colonel Al Hammadi stressed that maintaining international terms and conditions requested to receive the international accreditation, is in line with the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters’ vision to deliver distinguished security services, in order to achieve a safer community by putting an end to criminal activities using the most advanced scientific methods.
