Traffic accident: 19 laborers injured in Abu Dhabi
19 laborers sustained various injuries when their buses collided on Sunday early morning at Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi.
Major Khalifa Al Khili, Director of Highway Traffic and Patrols Section said the accident was due to over speeding as the drivers were speeding up to reach in time.
Drivers of both buses and other 11 passengers sustained severe injuries, 6 passengers sustained medium injuries and two passengers sustained minor injuries. The injured were evacuated by Abu Dhabi police ambulance personnel and took to Al Mafraq and Zayed Military Hospitals for treatment.
Major Al Khili urged companies’ managements to direct their drivers to adhere to speed limits and to start early to avoid the need to speedy driving.
