The Civil Defence and ADP douses a fire near Al Faya Fuel Station

 

The Civil Defence Teams assisted by relevant departments in Abu Dhabi Police succeeded in extinguishing a fire erupted in labor accommodation in Al Faya Area, on Saturday. 16 caravans were burned without any injuries, said Colonel Mohammad Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of Emergency and Public Safety at ADP.

The fire fighting teams managed to control flames in a record time, so as not to allow flames to extend to the adjacent fuel station. The fire site was evacuated and the causes of fire are being investigated.

Colonel Al Nuaimi urged construction companies to accommodate their laborers in labor towns which have been established for this purpose. It would be better to avoid wood-made caravans especially during summer season where air conditioning is required all the time. Some time air conditions electrical wiring causes fire. Also if you do not maintain air conditions regularly they may heat up and cause fire.

The Civil Defence Teams extinguished during the past two days fire erupted in two yachts at the yachts anchorage in Al Batteen Area, Abu Dhabi. One of them was completely burnt out, and the other partly burnt. The flames were controlled without extending to other yachts and without injuries. One person trapped in the cleaning scaffold at a building near Abu Dhabi Financial Department building was rescued by the Civil Defence men.
