Abu Dhabi Police foiled the promotion of some 1.2 million narcotic pills, which were in the possession of a gang of seven Asians, after the officers spotted the gang members, over a period of four months, during which they were travelling between the emirates of the uae.
Colonel Tahir Gharib al-Dhaheri, director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, explained that the details of the case belonged to the arrest of the first accused, in possession of 120 thousand narcotic pills, and investigations revealed new leads that led to the overthrow of the rest of the gang, through a tight security plan, resulted in the arrest of the second accused, and in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills estimated at 15 thousand pills, and it turns out that the accused is considered the second man in the organization of the criminal network, and that he is responsible for all the sales and purchases.
The gang members fell into the hands of the control team, which led to the tightening of the security grip on all sides of the network, which turned out to be made up of a merchant, store, promoter and a large quantity of narcotic pills they intended to smuggle part of it to one of the neighboring countries.
He stressed that the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police attaches great attention to the fight against drugs, the pursuit of their promoters and the detection of their methods, drying the sources of these poisons, and preventing their damage by all means of security, prevention and awareness, pointing out that the smuggling and promotion of drugs is considered an organized crime, cross-border, and run by dangerous criminal gangs, pointing out that the fight against these destructive poisons for young people is a shared community responsibility, and that the family is the first line of defense, in addressing them and preventing their spread.
For its part, the Directorate of Drug Control called on members of the community to cooperate with the police and report any security information that contributes to the arrest of criminal drug gangs, through the telephone security service 8002626.
