Abu Dhabi Police has confirmed that the negligence of parents in taking the necessary preventive measures and the absence of control over children is one of the main causes of the incidents of young people falling from the windows and balconies of residential buildings.
Families must apply protections such as "window bumpers" and for large-scale children's toys to be removed from windows and balconies to avoid arousing the curiosity of children who are going upstairs to discover what is going on in the street and expose them to falling and losing their lives in many unfortunate situations.
Families were warned not to play with children near windows and balconies or to look down, which leads to the child's collapse and fall, stressing the need to always close the balcony, put the key in a place where young people do not reach, and make sure that there is nothing to enable the child to climb the walls of the balcony.
ADP stressed that the safety of children at home is the responsibility of parents to protect them from traumatic accidents that cause the loss of the lives of many young people due to a moment of inattention or negligence in taking what protects them and secures their lives.
