The General Directorate of Civil Defense - Abu Dhabi carried out an experiment for the dark space lighting system using the drone as part of its efforts to keep pace with scientific developments and harness modern technologies and means to enhance the speed of response and the aircraft illuminates dark places in fire sites, rescue sites and disaster situations.
Brigadier General Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Deputy Director General of Civil Defense - Abu Dhabi, confirmed the continuous attention to keeping pace with developments and developments in order to enhance the efforts of civil defense in providing safety to residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, pointing out that the presence of good lighting in the fire sites enhances the efforts of firefighters in the performance of their tasks with high accuracy.
He pointed out that the experience comes within the framework of encouraging the application of modern advanced systems that enhance the performance of fire tasks with high professionalism reflects positively on achieving the highest degree of safety to protect individuals and property within a system of work adopted in accordance with the best practices developed globally.
For his part, Lt. Col. Omar Salem Al-Shehhi explained that the system was operated within 3 minutes and at an altitude of up to 40 meters and covers a lighting area of up to 4500 to 8000 square meters and does not need batteries and the fans are characterized as safe and free of sharp edges and easy to move from one place to another.
He said that the brightness of the lighting reaches up to 100 thousand candles and can control the plane from a control distance to 500 meters, pointing out that the aircraft is currently being provided with a thermal camera working to detect the places of fire (source of fire and stranded) allowing the combat teams to perform tasks quickly to control fires and will be added to the high-quality vision camera which enhances the control process for a greater distance.
