Western Region Police intensifies patrols to provide security and safety for travelers
Abu Dhabi Police Western Region Police Directorate has taken all necessary procedures to enhance the safety and security of travelers who travel by land through Al Ghuwaifat border post, which witnesses continuous flow of travelers during this season.
Colonel Hamad Saeed Tarees Al Dhahri, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate has affirmed that all necessary procedures and preparations have been taken to enhance travelers’ safety and smooth flow of traffic on roads.
‘Traffic Patrols along the traffic line leading to Al Ghuwaifat border post have been intensified. A number of ambulance and rescue vehicles have been provided in collaboration with the Department of Emergency and Public Safety to deal with any traffic accident. The Media and Public Relations section at the Directorate distribute awareness brochures and manuals to road users. They contain advices, guidelines and all services available on the road such as fuel stations, restaurants, guesthouses, hotels and workshops”, added Al Dhahri.
‘Mobile workshops have been provided to fix any minor mechanical or electric failures or towing the vehicle to nearest workshop in the area. Buses have also been provided for travelers whose vehicles breakdown so as to continue their journeys. They can be requested on 999”, added Al Dhahri.
“Motorists must check the mechanical condition, tyres, engine belts and cooling system of their vehicles before starting their journey to avoid any breakdowns on the road and any delays. Motorists are also requested to abide by speed limits, prescribed loads and heights of loads, which should not exceed 60cm high”, added Al Dhahri
Motorist should take some rest while driving if they feel tired. They should ensure that they have their passports with them, and their passengers, and that entry visas are duly stamped on their passports. Drivers should carry with them their driving licenses and vehicles registration
