We face challenges with modern nature of crimes: Saif bin Zayed 

 

The activities of ISNR-2010 kicked off yesterday "Monday" at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior opened the sessions of ISNR-2010.

In his statement HH stressed the importance of enhancing global security cooperation and joint cooperation between different police organizations in the Region and around the world to face modern crime developments. UAE in response to its Higher Leadership directives was keen to adopt global developments. The world still faces new forms of organized crime resulting from globalization trend, economic and social openness, IT revolution, in addition to criminal phenomena such as cyber crime, cross-border crime, organized crime and many others.

In UAE and in response to the directives of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, we have planned a clear strategic vision to be implemented in accordance with accurate stages. This is by use of best advanced technology and well-training of our personnel and motivating them to innovate. We continue our efforts in promoting all aspects of security performance, and enhance coordination and cooperation with world nations to follow up and exchange information about new criminal methods. 

HH hoped that the conference and accompanying exhibition will achieve the utmost goals for which it has been organized, to enhance public security and safety. At of HH's statement he wished the ISNR every success and reconfirmed that UAE would remain in the lead regarding the organization and industry of global exhibitions.

HH cut the ribbon to announce the kick off of the exhibition. The ceremony was attended by HE Soud bin Ibrahim bin Soud Al Busaeedi, Omani Minister of Interior, HE (Engineer) Ibrahim Mahmood Hamid, Sudanese Minister of Interior, HE Muhideen Aleek, Bosnian Minster of Interior, Brigadier Tariq bin Dinah, Undersecretary of Bahraini Ministry of Interior and a number of Diplomatic Corps Members and Members of the participating delegations.

Then HH toured the exhibition accompanied by Hadif Al Dhahiri, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, MoI Undersecretary, Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tameem, C-in-C of Dubai Police, Major General Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary general of HH's Office, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, Director general of ADP Central Operations Directorate and a number of MoI and Police Senior officers. HH reviewed the latest technologies and transport. HH visited MoI and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority wings. The exhibition attracted a high turnout of visiting police commanding officers and experts.

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, MoI Undersecretary confirmed in his opening speech that UAE made great efforts at all levels to maintain security and stability and to provide reassurance for nationals and residents, due to the wise policy and directives of UAE Higher Leadership.

The conflict between security challenges including crises and disasters, terrorism operations and others, would not come to an end. This necessitated organization of many conferences, symposiums and workshops at all levels in search for best solutions. The participation of many experts and specialists in international security areas would give us the chance to benefit from their experiences and experiments.
