Vehicles confiscated, heavy fines imposed
With the AD Police drive against reckless driving, acrobatics on roads and residential areas, Abu Dhabi police traffic police in coordination with the police from peripheral areas have confiscated 73 vehicles for reckless driving and another six for not having number plates and imposing heavy fines for the violations
The violators mostly belong to youths according to colonel engineer Husain hammed Al Harthi, of the traffic and patrols department of Abu Dhabi police. They indulge in acrobatics near residential areas, sudden breaking to produce heavy noise disturbing and creating nuisance to the public also endangering other road users ,he said.
Al Harti warned motorists that the police and patrols will be intensifying their drive against those indulging in such offences and will be arrested besides confiscating their vehicles and imposing heavy fines.
He warned such offenders to get rid of such tendencies or else face the serious consequences. Their will be round the clock vigilance by the police and civil patrols, he added.
