Unification of safety measures at the tourism facilities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi decreases any potential risks through minimizing response time during emergencies, affirmed the Civil Defense Department in Abu Dhabi.
Acting director general of civil defence Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Nuaimi, who is also director of Emergency and public safety at Abu Dhabi Police revealed that a written emergency plan is being prepared in coordination with Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. Launching such an idea highlights the role of civil defence in promoting aspects of safety and security with partners in all sectors such as education, health and oil facilities, said Al Nuaimi on a paper he presented on Monday in the training workshop organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in partnership with Civil Defence and Abu Dhabi center of Environment, Health and Safety on “implementing safety standards in the touristic and hotel facilities in Emirate of Abu Dhabi”.
The goal of implementing these procedures is to ensure that such plans are working adequately, and that institutions make such procedures available to guarantee the safety of persons and property until civil defence teams arrive to handle the situation, he noted.
All hotel facilities have supported the project and expressed tremendous cooperation, said Captain Abdullah Al Sagheeri, head of emergency planning and general supervisor of the plan implementation. He stressed the importance of the project in implementing safety codes on all hotels across the country.
This worship is one of the most important training and awareness programs which the authority organizes with its concerned partners said Nasser Saif Al Riyami, director of tourism standards, Abu Dhabi tourism Authority. It was held with the aim of developing touristic services in general, and ensuring aspects of safety and security in all hotel and touristic facilities in Abu Dhabi.
