UAE takes part in GCC immigration meeting in Riyadh
In a statement on the sidelines of the 26th meeting for GCC Directors General of Immigration, Naturalization and Residency currently held in Riyadh, Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs affirmed keenness of UAE on boosting the march of joint work to further increase communication and smoothness flow of trade among the member states, in addition to ways of enhancing cooperation in training and expertise - sharing among GCC states in areas of naturalization and residency.
He expressed his hope that the meeting will reach the recommendations which concern the gulf nationals and preserve the security of the region, in line with the ambitions of GCC Interior Ministers.
The meeting began this morning in Riyadh, KSA, and headed by Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs.
Several topics on the agenda have been discussed in the meeting including the memorandum issued by the GCC General Secretariat concerning the executive actions for the resolutions of GCC Interior Ministers in areas of immigration and ways of upgrading mechanisms of joint coordination among the member states.
Other topics included the discussion of resolutions of GCC Interior Ministers on movement of particular category of people, according to their jobs, among the GCC member states.
“Diploma in Immigration”, an academic program released by Naif Academy for Security Sciences, was among the topics that was discussed in the meeting.
Attendees were briefed on the Qatari paper on the electronic gate with the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting lauded and blessed the initiative and considered its circulation for the GCC member states.
The delegates reviewed the experiences of member states concerning the household service workers contracts and took adequate decisions regarding them.
The accompanying delegation comprises Brigadier. Ghareeb Al Hosani, director general of ports and airports, Brig. Obeid bin Suror, deputy director general of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Brig. Abdullah Ali bin Saho, director general of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah, Colonel Sultan Yousif al Nuaimi, director general of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ras Al Khaimah, Lt. Colonel Khamis Mohammed Al Kaabi, legal advisor and a number of officers and officials.
