During a ceremony held at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi under the theme “Mothers in the Military: Endless Giving,” UAE Women Police Association recognized a group of military distinguished mother from the United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries.

Welcoming the audience and the UAE and GCC distinguished mothers in military forces, First Lt. Aminah Mohammed, Chairman of The Emirati Women Police Association, said that the ceremony, was held under the patronage of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, is a great event that honors distinguished mothers serving in the army. 

First Lt. Mohammed added: “we are honored at the UAE Women Police Association to welcome representatives from the GCC and the UAE Armed Forces, at this ceremony that is held under the theme ‘Mothers in the Military: Endless Giving’ and enhances the distinguished role that those mother play through their commitment to their duties at work and home, in order to present a good example and an honorable role model for others to follow.”

First Lt. Mohammed also assured that the giving of those distinguished mothers is exceptional, as it serves both work and society, especially that those mothers realize their mission in raising children within a healthy environment, by hard working, patience and persistence.

The Chairman of The Emirati Women Police Association greeted all mothers on this occasion of Mothers’ Day. She said that the Association would celebrate this great event annually, and wished to see next year another group of distinguished mothers on this stage.

First Lt. Mohammed expressed her happiness for the success of this leading initiative which will be followed by more initiatives to be announced soon, such as “Distinguished Military Family”, “Heroic Action”, “Scientific Excellence”, and “Distinguished Performance”. The link that connects all these initiatives is “excellence”, which we all seek. This raises the bar for Women Police Association and poses more responsibilities before them to achieve all the goals announced.

Concluding her speech, First Lt. called for continuing the work and efforts till the Association achieves its goals. “The success achieved by the Association in this short period of time is a result of the unlimited support and sponsorship of the Police Commandment to the Association,” explained First Lt. Mohammed.

Following her speech, the ceremony of awarding distinguished mothers of the GCC countries began. Captain Bana Ali Mubarak Abdullah from Qatar, Captain Fatima Omar Abdurrahman from Bahrain, First Lt. Farah Ahmad Ghaloum from Kuwait, and Lt. Colonel Dr. Jamila Jumaan Omar from the UAE Armed Forces, were recognized.

Personnel from the police force of the Ministry of Interior were also honored as “Distinguished Mothers in the Military”, namely: Captain Halima Saleem Hasan Al Kurdi, First Lt. Sarah Al Hashemi, and First Warrant Officer Hamda Khalifa Al Moheiri, from the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. Also, personnel from the Ministry of Interior were honored with the same award: First Warrant Officer Mariam Ahmad Ali Al Mosleh, First Lt. Aisha Abdullah bin Dustin from Sharjah Police, First Warrant Officer Norah Mohammed Soheil Al Kutbi from Ajman Police, First Warrant Nassima Mohammed Yusuf from RAK Police, and First Sergeant Kholoud Mohammed Bu Haroun from Umm al-Quwain Police.

At the end of the ceremony, First Lt. Aminah Mohammed expressed her thanks to the audience to the honored mothers, pointing out that this award is giving back only part of what these mothers gave, and the efforts they exerted in raising their children, and carrying out outstanding performance at work.
