The Gulf Traffic Exhibition and Conference 2012 commended the awareness-raising efforts made by the Law Respect Culture Office at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior that contributed to the success of the exhibition. As a result the office’s efforts, thousands of exhibitors and visitors were educated on the law respect culture through the handbook titled: Traffic Highlights.

Richard Pavitt, Exhibition Director for Gulf Traffic praised the Ministry of Interior’s efforts and all of the Law Respect Culture Office’s personnel, which enabled the exhibition to carry out its responsibilities and fulfill its role based on its mission to promote road traffic safety initiatives in the Gulf region.

The Law Respect Culture Office’s legal handbook titled, Traffic Highlights, was published as part of its participation as an awareness-raising and educational sponsor in the Gulf Traffic Exhibition, which was organized by Informa Exhibitions. The three-day exhibition began on November 19th and was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Furthermore, through its participation in the exhibition, the Law Respect Culture Office aimed to communicate a legal message to various members of the community to promote their culture in legal issues and to ensure the delivery of necessary and useful information for specialists in this field.

The Traffic Highlights handbook, which has been translated into English, contains valuable legal information for all segments of society participating in the exhibition. The handbook also contained traffic advice that is derived from federal law and regulations on traffic, as well as highlighting the ministerial decisions issued thereunder. It also mentioned some of the violations and petty offences committed by some as a result of their ignorance of the laws enforced in the State; there is also reference to some traffic offences with penalties established by the law for such crimes.

For his part, the Law Respect Culture Office at the Ministry of Interior commended the efforts of the organizers of the Exhibition and their integral role in conveying the bright cultural image of UAE.

In parallel, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of the Law Respect Culture Office at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, stressed the importance of maintaining pace with developments in the areas of community awareness, especially concerning traffic. He referred to the office’s commitment to promote public awareness, through various educational programs with a view to reduce accidents and promote the traffic safety culture among different age groups.

Moreover, he explained that their participation in this exhibition translates the will of the Law Respect Culture Office to spread awareness among the members of society and strengthen their collective role to protect society in order to avoid the causes of traffic accidents.

It is noteworthy that the Law Respect Culture Office is one of the police agencies that deal with social responsibility; it is keen to assume its effective role in the development of patriotism and loyalty to the homeland. The office works together with other stakeholders to form a single national unit offsetting any unawareness of  state laws, regulations, customs, and traditions that make up society.

Finally, the significance of the Ministry of Interior’s participation is evidenced through its direct contact with the community to raise awareness among its members, define the role assumed by the various police forces in achieving security and stability, and acquaint them with the services offered to the public.
