Spreading of ID card information's is necessary
Some residents think the linking of registration in Population Register and ID card registration with issuance and renewal of residency is a valuable step. It saves time and effort. It motivates others to get the ID card which assists in receiving services from departments and institutions.
They have heard about the Population Register and ID card System from the media and EIDA website. But spreading of information will acquaint people with them.ID card is an important document which let them dispense with large number of documents required by these agencies.
“ID card is a unified identification document and approved by public and private sectors”, said Abdul Aziz Sultan Al Maamari, Director of Public relations and marketing at EIDA.
EIDA has taken a number of steps to acquaint people with ID card. Expansion of registration centers and simplifying procedures will increase the number of registered people, to increase the numbers of registered individuals. The ID card will assist in providing distinguished electronic services.
Mr. Hussain Habashi Hassan, Egyptian, considers ID card is an important document which can be used at all public and private instead of many documents, in addition to electronic link with other agencies.
Mahmood Ahmed Mohammad Hamdan, Palestinian, believes that the summing up of many documents in one document unifies procedures and reduces the photocopying of documents cost the procedure that the person follows to issue his residency takes time and effort.

He asks authorities concerned to intensify awareness campaigns showing the importance of ID card as a substitute document for other many documents as soon as it has been approved by all institutions and agencies.
31 registration centers for nationals and residents
There are 31 permanent, temporary and mobile registration centers coverin the whole country. The aim of this is to facilitate registration process for nationals and residents in ID card and Population Register. EIDA has a plan to register employees and their families at their places of work, as agreed by those parties.
