The Abu Dhabi Police found a severed human head in the Al Samha region in Abu Dhabi. Police officers were also able to find a decapitated body near the head. The body was buried in the sand under the shade of a desert tree.
Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammed Borshid, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in the Abu Dhabi Police noted that police agencies mobilized their forces immediately upon receipt of the notification. According to initial examinations, Colonel Borshid presumed that this finding is of a criminal nature. He further noted that the head was likely sectioned from the rest of the body with a sharp tool, and it seemingly belongs to the discovered body.
Colonel Borshid indicated that the police maximized efforts to identify the head and the decomposing corpse that was buried under the soil in a shallow hole. He also pointed out that investigations revealed that the body belonged to an Asian man, who was working as bulldozer driver in one of the contracting and construction facilities. He has not reported to work since mid-September, and as a result, there is an escape ‘BOLO’ issued against him.
“Preliminary investigations and leads have resulted in the identification of three people (Asians) suspected of involvement in the crime; one of whom has been arrested for hiding and failing to report the incident. After questioning him, he guided the police to the other two suspects who conspired to bury the victim in the same area where they killed him with a cleaver by stabbing him three times. The suspect confessed that the victim had earlier sexually assaulted one of the suspects,” added Colonel Borshid.
“Further investigations revealed that the second suspect left the country the day after the crime, while the third suspect followed him and departed the next day. An international search warrant was issued against them in order to extradite them (through Interpol) after they abruptly departed for their home country leaving their jobs under the pretext of force majeure.
Colonel Borshid affirmed that the police is still investigating the crime, its causes, circumstances, and motives. He assured the residents of the Al Samha region of their security reiterating that the department is working on resolving the case swiftly.
The Abu Dhabi Police received a phone call from a bulldozer driver (Asian) saying that he found a decomposed human head (only hair and bones remained) while on duty with his colleagues. The men, who are garbage collectors, were picking up the waste in the Al Samha region (East) in Abu Dhabi in order to transfer it to the incinerators using a bulldozer and a truck.
“Crime scene investigations revealed that the human head was apparently sectioned from the rest of the body when it was caught in the blades of the bulldozer while the driver was picking up the collected waste. The head rolled over suddenly in front of him and his colleagues, leaving them in a state of shock and horror.
For his part, Lt. Colonel Jumaa Al Kaabi, Head of the Homicide Division at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Abu Dhabi Police, stated that upon receiving the call on the seventh of March, competent teams, police patrols, and criminal investigation teams rushed to the scene. They cordoned off the crime scene and collected evidence to identify the head, as well as the reasons and circumstances of this mysterious crime.
“After a wide search operation near the area where the head was discovered, police officers found a body without a head buried in the sand under a desert tree a few meters away. The body was lying in a shallow hole, fully dressed, and it had almost decomposed completely into a skeleton,” added Lt. Colonel Al Kaabi.
