A symposium on ‘modern plans and methods for law enforcement training’ recommended utilizing  the guidelines strategy on security training in determining and drafting vision and prediction of the future and focusing on the factors which help integrate job acquired skills.

The symposium also called for establishing a department specialized in planning for security training, setting up security database to assist in this regard, using the scientific approach to measure the impact of training.

The participants have expressed their thanks and appreciation to Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his support to training in all domains, and his efforts in establishing the scientific and practical concepts for security sciences.

Major General Matar Salim Al Niyadi, Director General of Electronic Services and Communications at the Ministry of Interior witnessed the day before yesterday, the conclusion of the symposium which was organized by the Police college in collaboration with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The recommendation also urged the implementation of modern methods in defining the actual training requirements including designing, execution and assessment of security training programs, as well as benefiting from the modern training trends, adopting quality standards, and encouraging self-learning and distant training.

“Today’s word is witnessing tremendous scientific progress in all domains”, said Colonel Saif Al Kutbi, Director of the Police College. “Training systems and patterns have also been developed to keep pace with this rapidly growing progress towards modernization. Therefore, we must keep with this progress”, he added.

The symposium has achieved many of its objectives by focusing on applying quality standards and choosing modern methods in training as primary part in the strategy of security training, pointed out Major Dr. Nasser Mohammed Al Baker, Director of Postgraduate Studies Department at the Police College, and also the scientific coordinator of the symposium.

Present were Dr Abdul Rahman Al Sha’ir, secretary of (NAUSS), departments and sections directors, police officers of the Police College and Officers Training Institute.
