Saif bin Zayed launches a new award for best patrol
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has launched a new award for the next year under the name "The Best Police Patrol". Affirming the importance of police patrols as they represent police organization before the community, HH urged them to continue their distinguished performance and services.
This statement was made during the ceremony of honoring the winners of HH Award for Best Police Station and Distinguished Officer, for the second year, at the Forensic Evidence Department Conference Room, on Monday.
In his speech to the audience HH said "This award has shown the skills of new officers in excellence area. International standards which have been adopted to evaluate the winners require effort, diligence, administrative and personal development. Achievement of development requires interest in knowledge and maintenance of methods in use whether at personal level or within our excellence progress. WE are all distinguished by our existence in the UAE Government. It is an honor to all of us".
Then HH thanked the winners for their efforts and wished them every success in their future career. HH honored the organizing committee members: Brigadier Jasim Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Lt. Colonel Sultan Bu Aataba Al Zaabi, Major Mohammad Hussain Al Khoori, Captain Rashid Abdullah Al Dossari, Lt. Abdullah Naji Al Dhahri, Dr. Abdul Rahim Jallad and Mr. Mahir Al Khatteeb.
Out of 13 competing Comprehensive Police Stations, Khalidia Police station won the prize of First Best Comprehensive Police Station, Al Shaabiah Police Station came second and Mussafah Police Station won the third place. Al Khazna Police Station won the prize of Best Non Comprehensive Police Station, out of 6 competing police stations.
The category of distinguished police officer there were 15 officers entered the competition. Major Jumaa Obeid Al Rashdi, from Al Rahba Police Station, won the first prize, Major Rashid Khalaf Al Dhahri, from Khalidia Police Station won the second prize and Major Rashid Salim Al Shamsi, from Khalidia Police Station, won the third prize.
Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Acting Director General of Policing Operations and Chairman of the Award Committee said "The aim of the award is to assist employees in implementing the standards of total quality in performance at best levels. It has been set up in accordance with global quality standards as an additional balance for ADP GHQ in Abu Dhabi Award for Distinguished Government Performance".
"The award is held once every year for all categories according to certain terms and conditions. The standards evaluated for the award include: Leadership, implementation of policy and strategy, operations and results. The officers award evaluates the following standards: Performance, achievements and commitment to work, creative initiatives and participation and supervisory skills", added Al Minhali.
Lt. Colonel Ibrahim Al Minhali, Director of Khalidia Police Station said "This winning of first place by Khalidia Police Station is due to HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior support and availability of all elements required for good working environment. The aim of the award is to motivate officers and police stations to develop policing progress to best levels".
