Lit. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has directed to support and encourage small and medium projects of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development.

He expressed his admiration and interest in the achievements of the UAE nationals who exerted their utmost efforts to carry out such pioneering projects which serve our society.

The remarks were made during HH Sheikh Saif visit Sunday evening to the exhibition held in conjunction with the fourth annual ceremony organized by the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition center, in presence of Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, director general of Finance and Services, and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police

Sheikh Saif toured the products showcased at the exhibition which included 33 enterprises that have been financed by the Fund. One of these projects is one the Ridda initiative  project which was launched by the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police to rehabilitee the inmates of the correctional and punitive facilities.

For his part, Hussein Jassem Al Nowais Chairman of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development praised the visit paid by HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the fourth annual exhibition, affirming that this visit motivates us for more work to proceed ahead in pursuance of the directives of the higher leadership which calls for improving living conditions of citizens.

He said HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed has always been supportive to all the enterprises of the Fund, noting that his directives and follow up have been behind the success of the Al Ridda initiative which was launched by the Fund in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Police and which aims at giving UAE inmates a chance to enter the enterprises sector and get them reintegrated in the society after having completed their jail terms.

Abu Dhabi Police has recently signed a MoU with Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development to train inmates on establishing and managing small enterprises and providing them with the necessary finance after being released.

Abu Dhabi Police communicates with the released inmates who completed the program at the correctional and punitive facilities, to further ensure they have met the program requirements.
