Saif bin Zayed directives for biometric UAE passport project

 

HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has directed that an stat-of-the-art biometric UAE passport to be introduced which will comply with international standards of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). 

HH witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Emirates Computers and the Ministry of Interior in this regard. According to the MOU the latter would issue the biometric passport for UAE citizens.

 Major General Mattar Salim bin Miseid Al Niyadi, Director General of Electronic Services and Communications, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Electronic Passport, signed for the Ministry of Interior, and Mr. Hani Hureiq signed for Emirates Computers.

The signing ceremony was attended by HE Saqr Ghabash Saed, Minister of Labour, Major General Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH's Office and a number of Senior Officials from both sides.
