Saif bin Zayed decorates 14 VGT members with community service medals
Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Interior has decorated members of Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) with the community service medals in recognition for their humanitarian and social contributions in the field of police and security, and for their efforts in establishing an effective global partnership to achieve the goals of making the internet safer, identifying the identities and locations of children who are vulnerable to danger, and bringing offenders to justice.
Decoration included Major General Nasser Lekhrebani Al Nuaimi, secretary general of the office of HH Prime Minister and Minster of Interior, as a representative of the United Arab Emirates and the following:
Neil Cogan, from Australia, Peter Defies, UK, Luis Al Farez, USA, John Beliniski, Canada, Dr. Antonio Abrozesi, Italy, Jonathon Aperis, Australia, Rob Bob, New Zealan, Jeni Aernside, Gabriella Saleb, Maria Frelenghos, Audit Meli, Michele Inzourth and Rob Crisp from Australia.
HH Sheikh Saif welcomed the participating delegations stressing that our vision is to make UAE one of the prominent global destinations in child protection and other areas.
“|UAE is looking for best practices in child protection any where in the world, therefore it is very important for us to become an effective VGT member”, said HH Sheikh Saif.
He congratulated VGT members and representatives for their huge efforts in child protection, noting that granting VGT board of directors and secretariat members comes as recognition for their great efforts.
VGT members of board of directors expressed their appreciation to UAE and its leadership, and extended thanks to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Interior for his gesture, stressing their commitment to do their utmost to achieve the VGT goals.
For his part, Major General Nasser Lekhrebani Al Nuaimi, chairman of higher committee for child protection at the ministry of interior handed over trophies and appreciation certificates to the VGT chairman and members of board of directors, praising the efforts of global cooperation in children protection and calling on the importance of creating an effective global framework for information sharing to prevent sex offenders from committing their crimes in other places in the world.
HH Sheikh Saif has opened an art children exhibition which was organized by the higher committee for child protection at the ministry of interior in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Community Development.
He viewed 25 artistic works for 20 school children of various nationalities representing government and private schools
