Saif bin Zayed congratulates “999” magazine on its 40th anniversary
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has congratulated the advisory panel and editorial staff of the 999 Magazine on the 40th anniversary of the Magazine. The Magazine celebrated the occasion at Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday among large presence of media personalities.
His Highness’s greetings were extended by Major General (S) Khalifa Harib Al Kheeli, MoI Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services. He lauded the Magazine and its media role in serving the UAE community, and the development achieved by the Magazine in terms of contents and publication during the past years.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Khaleel Dawood Badran, Director General of ADP Finance and Services and Chairman of Magazine Development Committee and a number of police officers and media men.
Badran lauded the great support of our Higher Leadership which provided all necessary requirements for success and to allow the Magazine to keep pace with MoI and ADP GHQ excellence and development progress. He lauded the development achieved by the Magazine in form and contents.
Lt. Colonel Thani Batti al Shamsi, Director of ADP Training Department and member of the Magazine Development Committee said ‘The ceiling of freedom in security media has reached high horizons and freedom windows have been set open during the time of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. His Highness still believes that media freedom is a standard for society freedom. 999 Magazine will be an open space for views which believe in a future filled with peace, cooperation and understanding”.
Major Awadh Saleh Al Kindi, Editor in Chief of the Magazine said ‘The support of police leadership over forty years has resulted in the development of the Magazine in terms of contents and form to become in the lead in social and security culture in the Arab World. This support was crowned in March 2009 when HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior honored the working team and writers of the Magazine for their efforts and dedication, the thing that met with the Magazine readers, Police personnel and media circles admiration”.
Lt. Colonel Saif Al Shamsi form ADP Department of Clubs and sports Activities talked about the number of Editors in Chief and writers worked for the Magazine and the development the Magazine underwent over this period. Then he presented the those present in the party: Habib al Ssaigh, Poet and Advisor of Gulf Publication House and editor in Chief, Batti Al Falasi, Director of Security Media at Dubai Police and General Supervisor of the Magazine “The Security”, Abdullah Rasheed, Director of Gulf News Newspaper office in Abu Dhabi and Muna Abu Samra Secretary of Journalists’ association. They all congratulated 999 Magazine staff and wished them success all the times.
The Poet, Major Nasser bin Barwan al Niyadi from ADP, and the young girl Aisha al Naqeeb delivered some poems. Owner of oldest issue of the Magazine was honored. Prized draw was also carried out during the evening for the audience. Police Music Band entertained the audience with some pieces of music.
