Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met on Tuesday a number of Emirati journalists, who will host the legal Ramadan Councils organized by the Ministry of Interior across the various Emirates. The Ramadan Councils will be held throughout the holy month of Ramadan under the slogan “Law brings us together”, with a view to discuss various issues of interest to the community.

During the meeting, His Highness underscored the important role of the media in promoting the development and construction boom witnessed by the UAE in various fields. He commended members of the media, calling them ambassadors of truth and efficient partners in the endeavor to enhance the level of services provided to the public through their national message, based on people’s needs, views and aspirations.

His Highness reasserted that the achievements and successes made by the UAE in all fields reflect the excellence attained by the higher leadership and its keenness to see the UAE remain at the forefront of the safest and most stable countries in the world.  Moreover, His Highness exchanged views with the journalists on a range of national-related topics, namely; raising young people; sports; education; entertainment; as well as issues aimed at promoting the values ​​of loyalty and sense of belonging to the homeland and maintaining its good reputation.

The Ramadan Councils, held across the various Emirates of the State, will touch on the concept of law respect culture and its religious, social and legal importance; in encouraging individuals to respect the law out of conviction, not out of fear of punishment or legal penalty, by highlighting the role of the legal culture in protecting individuals from the repercussions of violating the provisions of the law.

At the end of the meeting, HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed called on members of the media to submit their proposals, so as to be leveraged to establish the Ministry of Interior’s societal and services communication policies, and achieve the Federal Government’s overall objectives to enhance the level of services provided to the public. For their part, the journalists expressed their happiness for this community-based gesture; lauding the distinguished cultural role played by the ministry’s superiors and subordinates, characterized by transparency, modernization, and constructive cooperation with the various components of society.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Dr. Fawaz Khalil Badran, Director of Tactical Affairs and Security Media, the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Minister; and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture  Bureau.
