Saif Bin Zayed Honoured with Doctorate in Social Science
His highness Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and the minister of interior was decorated with honorary doctorate by the British university of Wolver Hampton in a glittering ceremony attended by a full house of audience including the top brass of Abu Dhabi police and gusts from the Dubai police and other emirates which was held at the general headquarters of Abu Dhabi police yesterday.
Professor Caroline Gipps, the vice chancellor of the university handing over the doctorate to sheikh Saif spoke about the achievements of his highness since he took over as the undersecretary of the ministry of interior and thereafter in his positions as the minister of interior and the deputy prime minister of the country.
She highlighted his highness achievements in developing Abu Dhabi police in to a techno savvy modern security force comparable with the best in the field world over, besides his keenness in developing the special needs through the social support centers he had set up, the community policing concept he implemented and the human resource development achieved in the police force making the national cadre competent to manage the security needs of a modern UAE.
Accepting the honour with great humility Sheikh Saif expressed his gratitude to the board of directors of the university, the vice chancellor and dedicated the same to the higher leaders vision and sacrifice that took the country to this level of pride, dignity and recognition said Sheikh Saif with the crowd applauding nonstop in their joy for the recognition their leader has achieved.
His highness assured the university delegates and the audience that, this recognition only adds to his future responsibilities and inspires him to do more social developmental activities.

He was born in 1968 in Al Ain City. He is a member of the Ruling Family of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

HH received his Bachelor Degree in Political Sciences (Administrative and Political Sciences) from UAE University in Al Ain.

He worked as the Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate during the period from 1994 to 1995.
