Racing in the public road is among dangerous forms of reckless driving and it result into fatalities and serious injuries, added Al Bloushi.
He explained that traffic and patrols section in A Ain is implementing Abu Dhabi Police strategy on promoting road safety and reducing deaths and injuries.
He called on various segments of the society to cooperate with the recently campaign launched by Abu Dhabi Police. The public campaign themed “make your driving points-free” educates motorists of disadvantages of getting traffic points.
In cooperation with John Barry, traffic expert at Al Ain’s Traffic Institute, the public relations branch at the section has prepared a report about risks of speed. The report tackled many traffic- related issues including early planning for any potential risk rather than dealing with what has happened.
According to Barry, traffic accidents cost the county millions of dirhams annually. These costs include health care and investigation in addition to human losses and injuries.
