The Police Sport Association held its inaugural meeting at the Sharjah-based Federal Police School under the chairmanship of Colonel Abdulmalik Jani, director of the association, in the presence of representatives of MoI headquarters and directors general.
The meeting discussed the sport season 2011-2012 and the most important decisions made by the association’s board of directors and the technical committee concerning the organizational and technical amendments which have been inserted on the sport activities schedule which the Association will be organizing during the new season.
The meeting also tackled the recommendations put forth in previous meetings and studied strengths, weaknesses and ways of improvement for the sake of uplifting police sports.
Welcoming the audience, Colonel Jani indicated that the Association works on achieving the ministry’s strategy and its message which aims at disseminating sports among staff members in order to develop their skills to further increase their work performance.
The Association has increased the reward from AED1.000 to AED 5000 for every player breaking the record set in the preceding years, noted Jani, adding that table tennis and snooker championships have been temporarily suspended for this season while other scheduled events have been approved.
