Police College celebrates graduation

 

The Abu Dhabi Police College will celebrate the graduation of three batches of its cadets tomorrow, Wednesday. The number of graduates is 304, among them there are five national females. The celebrations will extend outside the UAE as there are some graduates from Qatar and Jordan.

The 20th batch includes 176 secondary school graduates, of these two are from Qatar and two from Jordan, 123 cadets are university graduates. The fifth batch of female university graduates has five cadets.

Female graduates believe that the learning environment at the college is very advanced in terms of curricula, teaching standards, services, discipline and adherence to system. 1st WO graduate (Accountancy) Huda Al Katheeri is very happy with her graduation at the College which is one of the national scientific edifices. Her colleague Maryam Al Hosani (Statistics) says , her graduation motivates her to work very hard and to contribute to the country building. Military training has enriched her personality and boosted her confidence in herself.  

The graduate Maryam Al Hashimi has joined promotion one-year course at the College. She has gained many policing skills during her studies, which include security sense, UAE laws, criminal investigation, human rights and crime scene.

 

Academic Degree

 

Colonel Saif Ali Al Kitbi, Director General of the College says, the College has developed its curricula, training and learning systems to graduate well skilled police officers who can deal with all security circumstances professionally. The duration of study in the College is four years. One of them is for practical training which the students spend in different police sectors. They spend the other three years in theoretical study at the college. At the end they receive a Bachelor Degree in Policing Sciences and Criminal Justice. The students spend 131 credit hours during their training.

The College has close relations with different scientific institutions inside and outside UAE. WE exchange experiences in different academic and training areas. This is in addition to our participation in different conferences.

The College takes its students from secondary school graduates, in accordance with certain terms and conditions. The College also meets MoI needs of university graduates officers. The College has an Institute to train officers from UAE and from brotherly countries.

Acceptance and registration of students is carried out by the Department of Acceptance and Registration. Acceptance conditions include, UAE nationality, not less 70% rate of secondary school grade, age should not exceed 22 years, of good conduct, not accused of any criminal offence, not dismissed from a similar college before or dismissed from service on disciplinary grounds, he should not be less than 165cm long, medically fit and should pass the prescribed interview.
