Police Athletics kicks off in Dubai


Police Athletics Championship in its 19th edition, started on Monday evening, with more that 150 players, representing different police headquarters and directorates general. 

 The championship, organized by the Police Sports Association, under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Will be held at the courts of Police Officers Club in Dubai,  

The opening ceremony was attended by Col. Abdulmalik Jani, director of Police Sports Association, Lt. Col Abdullah Hassan Al Badi, director of sport affairs at Dubai Police and a number of official at the of Police Sports Association.

 The first day witnessed exciting competition as Dubai Police achieved the first place in thee contests including high jump, shot put and relay race.

Jani said, “The teams seek to achieve positive results and new records in this championship which joined good players who had clear achievements at the local and regional levels, which heated the competition”

 The players exhibited their skills, and many of whom managed to harvest gold medals, he added.

He thanked Dubai Police for hosting the event and providing all facilities to make it a success.

Seven teams representing Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Dubai Police, Directorate General of Al Fujairah Police, Civil Defence, Naturalization, Residency and Ports, Special Security Forces, and Federal Police School take part in the championship.
