Oil companies passengers made aware of security requirements
Abu Dhabi Police will launch on Saturday awareness and educational campaign oil to enlighten oil workers about the inspection procedures and security requirements to pass up implenation of safety measures, especially for those who travel to the marine oil fields and islands.
The campaign is conducted in cooperation and coordination with Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA).
Abu Dhabi Police, within its strategy which aims at fostering relations with its partner, was working to offer initiatives to achieve the highest levels of safety and security, said Col. Khamis Al Marar, director of Ports and Airports Security Police Department.
He pointed out that a joint committee from the Ports and Airport Department and ADMA was formed to study the initiative in order to make it a success.
Several meetings were held, and a work plan which included awareness lectures, training workshops on the procedures of security inspection, in addition to the items which are not permitted to be transported into oil marine fields and islands has been agreed upon.
For his part, 1st Lt. Ibrahim Qassim Al Hammadi, head of domestic flight security branch, and the program supervisor said, “ this initiative, which will be held in the Company’s headquarters, will be implemented throughout the year to ensure that the largest number of ADMA’s passengers have been enlightened, including the new employees.
He pointed out that the company will publish awareness pamphlets and video tapes to distribute to its passengers. In addition, TV screens will be mounted at the airports which passengers use to travel from and to the islands and the oil sites. Inspection procedures and banned items will be displayed on the screens.
Al Hammadi indicated that the laws and procedures pertaining to inspection and safety are already exist and are applicable; however some passengers ignore them and are unaware of their importance for safety.
Nasser Al Tamimi, director of Support Department in ADMA, stressed importance of the awareness initiative and said it is going to bring about positive outcomes that are really required to deal with the procedures of inspection which our passengers follow at Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Bateen Airport.
“The same applies to the passengers of ZADCO and ADJAZ companies for which ADMA provides domestic flights”, he added.
In the second phase of the program, lecturers and experts will move to the islands to explain what items which are not permitted to be transported, and how passengers can deal with the inspection equipment, said Al Tamimi.
Having done so, added Al Tamimi, passengers arrive at the airports fully informed of the correct security procedures.
He praised the Abu Dhabi Police initiative towards the Company’s passengers, confirming that coordination and cooperation will continue, and will be further enhanced in all domains particularly in safety and security areas.
