Speaking at the Forum, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior urged research and decision-making support center to explore the future challenges rather than just conducing research on the current phenomena.
He conveyed to the participants in the forum the greetings of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, who attaches great importance in scientific research, adding that the Ministry of Interior, is the first Ministry to set up a department for higher committees.
The Secretary-General called on the research centers not to neglect any segment in the society and to search for educational tools that encourage reading.
With the emergence of new challenges and crimes such as cyber crimes, it has become necessary to focus on developing studies and scientific research, said Major Abdullah Mohammed Al Kaabi, Acting Director, Abu Dhabi Police Research and Decision-Making Support Center.
These new challenges need to be studied using scientific method so that their results could be availed of to frame plans and security strategies, he added, stressing the importance of enabling scientific research and field studies in policing area.
He noted that the current developments taking place around the world today at various levels require reconsidering the tasks carried out by research and decision-making support centers, to enhance their role in decision-making process.
The Forum contributes to the developing of research process at the research and decision-making support centers and coordinating of efforts to achieve the maximum benefit from them, a part form providing employees at the Interior Ministry with the required knowledge, a matter that raises the level of culture among police personnel in the UAE, he continued.
Brigadier Saeed Salem Al Henki, Director General of Finance and Services, Ministry of the Interior, chaired the first session where Dr. Mohammed Murad Abdullah Director, Decision-Making Support Center at General Headquarters of Dubai Police presented a research on Governance of police organs.
Major Dr. Omar Ibrahim Ali, of the Decision-Making Support Center at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, presented a study on "obstacles to scientific research" He employed the descriptive method of analysis, designing a questionnaire to a sample of higher degrees holders at the Ministry of Interior.
In the second working session chaired by Brigadier Mohammed Eid Al Madhloum, the Director General of Police Operations at the General Headquarters of Sharjah Police, Dr. Fereydoon Mohammed Najeeb, of Dubai Police Decision making center, presented a series of development proposals in the field of police work.
