The Ministry of Interior called on all members of society, not to hesitate to report violators of the Law of Entry and Residence and communicate any information to the “Sahim” service, after the end of the amnesty granted to Law of Entry and Residence violators on February 4th.
The “Sahim” service is available around the clock, on the toll-free number 80080; for anyone wishing to provide information on Law of Entry and Residence violators.
Major General, Nasser bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs, indicated that the “Sahim” service aims to raise awareness among all members of society, and urge them to report any violator.
He stressed that the “Sahim” service comes in line with the development efforts related to the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners, its implementing regulations and amendments. Moreover, he pointed out that the police leadership’s directives stipulate the need to take all necessary measures to combat the phenomenon of illegal laborers.
He added that Ministry of Interior will spare no effort to track down infiltrators or illegal residents who remain in the country after the grace period, and fail to come forward voluntarily to the allocated centers to have their paperwork processed. Moreover, he called on citizens and residents to cooperate with the campaign’s objectives, so as to enhance stability and security in society.
Al Menhali explained that the “Sahim” service comprises a specialized team, from the Follow-up of Violators and Foreigners Department, who have been trained to process the received information and pass it to the competent authorities in the country. After corroborating the information received, the Department conducts a raid on the reported location, and takes legal action against violators.
For his part, Brigadier Dr. Abdullah Ali bin Sahoo, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah, Chairman of the Media Committee, indicated that, as per the directives of the Police Leadership, inspection campaigns will be intensified to arrest violators, after the February 4th deadline; noting that illegal residents who fail to make use of this amnesty granted by the UAE government, will face the full force of the law. Moreover, he added that penalties will be imposed on all those who fail to come forward to the allocated centers, during the deadline, or those who employ violators.
He reiterated his call to all Residency violators to come forward to the centers allocated by the Directorates General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs throughout the country, to avail of the remaining grace period granted by the government.
The centers also include the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah; the Office of Naturalization and Residency in Khor Fakkan; the Ras Al Khaimah Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs at the Foreign Offices Department in Al Jazira Al Hamra; the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ajman; the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Umm Al Quwain; and the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Fujairah.
