Under the patronage of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior organized its annual Strategic Partners’ Forum. The Forum, organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Park Rotana Abu Dhabi, aims to review the partnerships management mechanism, the proposals system, and the ministry's strategy 2014 -2016.
The Forum also included a number of topics addressing means to develop and enhance partnerships; and ways to strengthen and consolidate frameworks of communication between the ministry and its partners.
Attending the Forum was Colonel Muhammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dahiri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. also present were a number of Assistant Undersecretaries from the Federal Ministries; directors of Strategy Departments from the local bodies and departments in the state; and a large number of officers from the Ministry of Interior .
Colonel Aziz Hamoud Al Ameri, Director of Strategy and Performance Development, indicated that the Forum comes in line with the Ministry of Interior’s keenness to promote stronger communication with its partners, in order to identify their needs, their current and future expectations, exchange ideas and share knowledge. Moreover, he indicated that the Forum reflects the extent of communication and correlation between the Ministry of Interior and its partners.
In his speech on the occasion, Colonel Al Ameri conveyed the police leadership’s heartfelt greetings to all partners. “The Ministry of Interior has worked with its partners in a clear and distinguished manner, with the sole objective of making the United Arab Emirates one of the best countries in the world in various fields,” he noted. Moreover, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to all partners for their efforts and support to the Ministry of Interior to achieve the coveted mutual goals.
As part of the Forum, the audience watched a special presentation on the Ministry of Interior’s 2014 – 2016 strategy, submitted by Major Nihal Abdul Rahman, Head of Institutional Performance Measuring Department and Captain Jamal Salem Al Khatiri, Head of Planning and Strategic Development.
For his part, Major Ali Ghanem Tawil, Head of the Best Practices team at the Performance Department, gave a presentation on linking the ministry’s strategic indicators with the partners’ relevant indicators. On the same note, Major Ismail Al Harmoudi, Director of Complaints and Proposals Department, reviewed the complaints and proposals system at the ministry and the Innovation Department.
Furthermore, Major Mohammed Obaid Al Falahi, from the the Strategy and Performance Development Department gave a presentation on knowledge management, and the need to identify partners’ knowledge needs.
Also on the agenda, Captain Saeed Saleh Al Junaibi, Head of the Partnerships section, reviewed the existing partnership management mechanisms, implemented as per the partnerships work manual of the Ministry of Interior. He also highlighted the general success factors that contribute to effective partnerships, as well as the criteria for selecting and evaluating partners, and identifying their suggestions, comments and extent of satisfaction.
In the same vein, Captain Humaid Al Rai Al Shamesi, from the Administrative Processes Department gave an overview of the Ministry’s main operations, and its relationship with partners.
